does anyone know where I can buy Maclaren strollers in Bkk other than in Mothercare shops?

If anyone has a second hand Techno XT or XLR in very good condition to sell, please drop me a message.

I didn't have much luck and found prices in Thailand and Singapore very expensive. I actually think it would be cheaper for you to get a friend or relative to buy it in a sale in the UK (or elsewhere) and pay the shipping. Perhaps even Amazon.

Even better is if someone is coming over for a visit.

When I wanted to bring over our stroller BEFORE the baby was born, the airline (EVA Air) wanted to charge me $109USD from SFO to BKK to check it in as extra luggage. I opted not to because I thought I was being ripped off.

Well. I get to BKK and we find ourselves looking for a quality stroller. YIKES! We paid $160 for a complete travel system in the US via Amazon. Here, I found a Chinese-made piece of cr*p for 5,000baht. We only needed it for two months since we will return to the US when the baby is 7 weeks old (10 days old as of this post).

My advice: Bring one from the UK or US, even if it cost you. The quality ones here are so darn expensive. And the cheap ones are...well...cheap.

This one costs £78 and weighs 4.7kg but Fed Ex would want £150 to ship to mid NE Thailand from London. Parcelforce would do it for £130.

The problem is the volumetric weight (package is big but not so heavy).

BAMBI often has them for sales in their classifieds. Brown farm shop in Central World has some McClaren look alikes that are quite cheap, so does Bangkapi Mall.

the Thailand distributor (All 4 Baby) given on the MacLaren website actually doesn't import them anymore. We have contacted them.

The only places you can find MacLaren seem to be all Mothercare branches, though the number of models they have is very limited.

I finally bought one second hand from another TV member and I am happy with it.
