I applied and got a non imm B this past Wednesday, June 24th. I showed up on Tuesday, made my application with relevant documents and received my visa on Wednesday with only minor complications. I arrived a bit early and the guard who normally hands out applications and numbers was not in the booth outside. However, the door was open and I noticed several people sitting inside so I went in too. I walked up to one of the the windows where the agents were already seated and asked for an application which I received with no problem. Once I'd completed the application I tried to hand it in with my documents and was told to go outside and get a number. Which I did and was seen almost immediately because none of the other people had numbers either.

After I paid the $65 fee for the single entry B visa, I asked what time the next day I should come back and was told that I wouldn't be able to pick up my passport until Thursday because the boss didn't come to work that day. I told the agent my flight leaves tomorrow and she asked if I could change my ticket. I said no. Air Asia won't change the flight and that I would lose my money. She wanted to see my ticket which I'd forgotten to bring with me. I went to a nearby internet shop and printed out the E ticket and was back in the office in 10 minutes. She looked at the ticket and changed the pick up date on my receipt from Thursday to Wednesday. She didn't seem too happy about it either. This is the same woman who stamped my passport with DO NOT APPLY IN PHNOM PHEN AGAIN two years ago.

She probably didn't remember me but I'll never forget that face of hers or her attitude which is not very pleasing. She sits at the middle window and unfortunately, she seems to be the only one of three people behind the glass who deals with visa applications.

Judging from the USD 65 visa fee, that visa was for a single entry, I believe. I have added it as such to the list.

"I paid the $65 fee for the single entry B visa."

You are correct. I applied for a single entry. I really don't require anything more than a single and didn't want to create any additional scrutiny by asking for a double. Not to mention the added expense for the double. And don't forget the big red stamp from two years ago warning me not to come back.

Actually non immigrant visas are normally single or multi entry. The multi entry is valid for unlimited stays of up to 90 days for one year from date of issue.

Any recent experiences with obtaining a one-year multi-entry non-immigrant B visa in Phnom Penh?

I'm looking to take care of the visa and also tack on some vacation to see Angkor Wat.

Do's, Don'ts and Warnings would be much appreciated along with recommendations on where to stay, eat and what else there is to do.

Thanks everyone!

Do you have at least eight months validity on your work permit?

Everybody goes to KL if they have it.

All other in SEA will only give you three months arguing that you can extend in Thailand.

Single entry only at Phnom Penh. KL will issue multiple entry Non-B visa with at least 8 months remaining on work permit and full company documents. Penang too, but company registered share capital has to be 8M+.

hi everyone,

i will have to go to phnom phen this upcoming wednesday and will have to apply there for a non-b visa. i don't hold a work permit (that's the reason why i am applying for a non-b visa in phnom phen) and i've heard all these rumors about the double entry tourist visas incl. a red stamp. so i was wondering if anybody out there will be able to give an update on the non-b visa situation (singular entry) in phnom phen. doable? still a nightmare? all true what has been said?

any update, advice or help would be very much appreciated - thanks in advance chaps...

Have not seen any reports of red stamps there and would not have anything to do with a non immigrant visa in any case. I expect they will issue single entry with full paperwork (company/employment) as outlined on MFA web site. With luck someone doing recently can fill in the blanks.

Paid 100 USD and had a local lackey do it all for me. Had the 3 month visa stamp in my passport by evening. Expensive and a total rip-off: yes. Carefree day of touring city, swimming in hotel pool while not having to worry about it: priceless. wai.gif
