Can I discuss sexual matters concerning non bar girls....

Can I discuss non sexual matters concerning bar girls....

Can I discuss sexual matters concerning ex bar girls....

Can I discuss non sexual mattters concerning ex bar girls.....

Will this topic be closed because I have mentioned bar girls....

A lot of ex pats are married or in relationships with bar girls or ex bargirls especially those living in Isan or Pattaya....Does this mean that they cant post about their partners.....

My girl worked as a food and drink waitress in a bar and went with no more than 4 farangs....does she qualify as a bar girl even though she no longer works in any bar.....

a girl I know never worked in a bar but in a well established restaurant and went with farangs on occasion....what does that make her.....

You guys seem to be highly prejudiced against these girls.

One reason is that the Thai Goverment censures websites. Too much faceloss for them can result in a website like this beeing banned from access within Thailand. Currently over 16,000 websites in banned by the Government.

Search engine reasons and search engine optimization is another reason. With too much adult topics we could be classified as an adult site by topic. We don't want that.

Many of our members do not partipcate in the bar girl scene or prostitution. We have to accept that, and we have given you the alternative to discuss adult topics at barladies.com

We also not accept US Politics threads for similar reasons. If you want to discuss politics, please do that at www.bearpit.net for example.

Thanks for understanding our position.

Well that bit about the Thai Goverment I can understand to some extent....I was under the impression though that they were more worried about images and pornography rather than text.

What I cant understand was the comment in the Announcement section that reads....sexual content (BG) and then later the (BG) is dropped.....

While many of your members do not participate in that scene, just as many do....I was quoted before by a mod that it was about 50/50. I would say that only a few members are gay and obviously as Homosexuality deals a lot with sexual matters, then these posters should be directed to an appropriate gay forum site, dont you think.

By all means restrict the sexual content of all threads....but why should non sexual content about BG's be affected.....this is what I find to be highly prejudicial....I can see where you are coming from, and what your concerns are....but if you, as moderators make a decision concerning one group of people than you have to apply that across the board to all the other groups that maybe offensive to others, that would include the gay, ladies, etc...

You have a valid point. We are looking into the Gay forum as well. I am not reading there, but will do asap and make a statement later.

So does that mean that non sexual posts about BG's maybe under review.

I agree with gburns point, it's a valid one.

But gburns I think there may be less chance of bring back any bar girl discussions because they have just got a sponsorship deal from barladies.com and that will not last if re open bar girl topics and they don't send them enough traffic.

The sponsorship is I believe needed to cover huge bandwith costs so needed to keep the rest of the site running.

On another note I don't think sites get banned for sexual content unless it's pics or very illegal (child sex etc.), but not to sure and if it was my site and a worrying factor then I would not take the risk.

I still think it is highly prejudicial to target one topic of conversation when it breaks no laws. I have no objection to the deleting of offensive and crude sexual comments.....but the point I was making was the restriction on posting non sexual BG comments......eg: If I was to say in a thread that my girl is a BG or relate a story about a BG (non sexual)....then that post is likely to be deleted.

On your last comment, that was my understanding too.

I would guess there are many new and potentially new members who have questions regarding relationships they have with Thai women who happen to work in 'drinking establishments.' As long as the dicussion is even handed and moderated properly then why not. Websites like barladies.com is mostly for guys looking for girls who take it up the dooky, the cheapest shortime hotels, blah, blah.

It seems like too large of a common topic to be ignored here. Oh well.

Breaking the law? Ah well yes..might not be breaking the law exactly, though there is probably one that might be dredged up.

I think the site is on a hiding to nothing. Has it been 'suggested' that discussions about BGs are 'not really the kind of discussion we want in Thailand...because, as you know, there aren't really any BGs in Thailand at all??

I think it is quite appropriate to prevent explicit sexual or 'adult' content from a general website..but to prevent discussions of BGs??...! You might as well ban conversations about alcohol, too, or Pattaya or massage parlours...or Lumpini Park, Nana Plaza and Patpong...

I think this about enough of your whining :o

We worked hard to give you alternative, you got it.

So stop whining and deal with it.

The rules on thaivisa stand as they always were. You can discuss BG topics Here.

Moderation on Tv will be applied according to the existing rules.
