I have a Beauty and Holistic therapy clinic in my house in the UK and want to recruit a thai lady who is qualified in Thai Massage to live in and be a domestic help and to carry out Thai Massage to my clients. Can anyone suggest where I might advertise such a job?

I know many well qualified and experienced masseuse who would be interested. But you would have to get one of them through the visa, work permit jungle, which is not easy. Please PM me with some more details, and I'll try to help you. Regards, Tim

Tim's right. It will prove massively expensive, bureaucratic and above all, you have no real guarantee that they will finally turn up, or stay. My advice is: Don't. Advertise locally in UK instead.

Thanks for your feedback. We were only planning to do this for an initial trial of 6 months, but must admit have not thought about the consequences of longer term if it worked out. Someone else has pointed out that someone may use this opportunity as a route into the UK and then disappear - is this likely - I guess I am naive in such matters. Can you briefly summarise the requirements in respect of a work permit and visa, and who is responsible for applying for these? John
