Hi,

I have recently heard from a very respected source, that the Thai Consulate close to the Chong Mek border crossing with Laos will organise all sorts of visas for foreigners. Including one year, non-imm B. Has anybody else heard this?

Necessary paperwork, photo's, fee and one night in Laos is required but as i will be driving from Cha-am i just wondered if anybody knew for a fact that this is correct.

Thanks for reading and i hope somebody can help

Royal Thai Consulates are not located in Thailand. And there are only two in Laos - at Vientiane and Savannakhet. So I have no idea what you are talking about.

Why do people on here have to be so bloody rude! "So I have no idea what you are talking about." Quite obviously Royal Thai Consulates are not located in Thailand, I am asking about Laos. The reason I am asking is because i was told there was a consulate near the Chong Mek crossing.

If you can't help or have nothing nice to say, don't reply. Simple!

SICA, did you ever hear the story about a kettle and a pot?

Maybe you didn't hear the answer you wanted to hear. You were told where the only two Thai Consulates are located.

Apparently they aren't close to where you heard they were. I think that's fairly good info.

ok...nicely then.

Crossing at Chong Mek will get you to Pakse, the nearest major town. Miles away from Savanaket or Vientiene.
