Settlement Visa For Ireland

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I'm new to this site and have been finding it very helpful. I was hoping there is someone out there who has info on applying for a settlement visa for Ireland. I have been with my fiance for 2 1/2 years now, the first 1 1/2 with him in Thailand. He has been here once on a tourist visa since and we are currently waiting to hear from the embassy regarding another tourist visa. After this we hope to marry in thailand and apply for a settlement visa for Ireland.

Does anyone know the current waiting time for these? Or if anyone has any experience with applying for one I would really appreciate any advice!!

Thanks!!

Thanks for you post! i am irish and he is thai, i earn at least 400 euro a week (it varies), the thing is half of that is tips so i don't know if they would accept that? i could get a letter from my boss to back this up and my bank statement would also show the extra income. is it really only 2 to 8 weeks?? the tourist visas we have gotten have taken around 6 weeks! would we have to attend an interview?

Thanks again!!

Do you hold a UK passport ?

You may also apply for an Irish passport and apply for a Family permit that is free saving you around 33000 baht if you are eligible.

We have done this for several clients already processing time is quicker also.

If you require professional help feel free to contact me via my office in the UK/Pattaya.

Good luck.

No I am Irish so I don't have a UK passport, is the family permit only for the UK?

You don't live in Northern Ireland ?

If you did you may hold both passports and exercise your treaty rights as we have done for several clients.

You will require a D visa to enter southern Ireland and she must register with the police or some office we did an application last year for a client. It was quite a while ago so someone else may add their thoughts.
