Good Idea For A Better Haircut!

OK, this may seem like a minor item, but here goes...

I've been getting haircuts here in LOS for 3 years now... and I have a wonderful barber, right here on my soi, that does a wonderfully consistent job, with flawless quality, for only 60 baht... with only problem: It seemed like he had some problems getting the left top of my head's hair to match the right side!

And since I have a full head of hair, and I wear a very short style now, even small errors / differences in hair length, from left to right side, can be rather noticeable!

So I got this "novel" idea yesterday. I'd thought about this ahead of time... and sure enough, I could see in the mirror that as he was standing, and my seat was fully lowered... his eye level was level with the top of my head! I am 6 feet 4 1/2 inches tall, and he is standard height, for a Thai.

So when he got to the portion of my haircut approaching the top... I said... "Wait... IDEA!" and I proceeded to slide my butt forward, and slouch down, as far as comfortable, in the chair, thus lowering my head about 5 inches.

He seemed OK with this new situation, and continued the haircut... AND I got a perfect haircut this time; not a hair out of place, all perfect length!

As I said at the beginning, I know, it's small potatoes, but I thought I'd pass this on to my fellow tall farangs.

Sometimes it's the small things in life that make life that much more enjoyable, especially in LOS... and looking good is nice, eh?

I went to the barber and pointed to my arm and shook my head and said mai, not like this......so he knew that I didn't want the shaved head cut.......he rumbled around looking through drawers and smiled as he came up with a fitting......great I thought this will leave about quarter of an inch just the job......so he starts in at the front...........leaving about a millimeter!!!!..... .....too late... ... .the lot had to come off!!!!

I should have just left him too it.......

My friend was waiting too but decided to give the haircut a miss.....when he had recovered his normality after his laughing/grinning fit!!!!

Still........ 3 months later I have just had my first tidy up!!!........value for money or what.......

I have recently been using a photo editing software program to enlarge and crop a couple of fairly recent photos of myself with my hair cut the way I like it. I print it out and take it to the barber with me and say "Please cut it like this". (ขอตัดผมอย่างนี้ครับ). I've gotten good results every time so far.
