I'm 5'6" and have met some girls who won't date a guy shorter than they are, but there are many who don't mind at all. I once dated a woman who was 5'10" and she loved to wear heels when we went somewhere nice, neither of us ever felt awkward, although we did get some second looks from other diners once in awhile.

Aussiechick is right, we are all the same height when we are horizontal!
