Hi

I am writing this on behalf of my friend.

Basically he and his Thai partner went back to the UK 25 mths ago. She initially went in on a 2 year settlement visa, recently passed her citizenship test and now has the right to remain indefinitely.

They were told that after 3 years she can apply to be nationalised.

If she goes ahead with the nationlisation what rights will she lose in Thailand ? For example land ownership and immigration status ?

I had a look on the net for them and came up blank, was hoping some knowledgeable people here could help them out.

cheers

Dual Nationality is accepted by Thailand.

Do a search on this sub-forum and in the General forum, there has been many detailed explanations previously.

I would suggest looking at a few threads, there can be some quite deverse discussions, but as far as I understand there is no detrimental, or adverse reactions to having both nationalities.

The wife has both and has property and land in both countries.

By the way, it's ' naturalisation '. Of course she may well qualify as a nationally owned asset but somehow I don't think that was what you meant :)
