Hot Coffee In Central Festival

Featured Replies

Wating a cup of hot coffee and don't want to pay

80 baht at Starbucks, Coffee World, etc

50 baht (which is acceptable) at the ground floor donut shop

Go to the DQ Grill & Chill on the 5th floor for 30 baht coffee with refills.

Maybe for you coffee is just coffee ,

if the taste doesnt matter why not try the 10 baht hot coffee you find in the markets.

120 baht a cup at La Bagette on Naklua Road - but its a really good cup.

One of the worst overpriced locations I know of in Pattaya. Some items are really delicious, but way overpriced.

Cheers

Do you get to keep the cup? :)

Great tip!

I'm going to check this place out very soon.

good news!

Just out o f curiosity...do they sell real coffee or that fancy Americano/Frappucino/whatever-no stuff that Starbucks introduced to the world?

Wow, 120 baht is too expensive for a hot coffee. Even bloody Starbucks is cheaper than that. I only paid 60 baht for a hot coffee at GAFAE coffee shop in South Pattaya, and it tastes the best.

For that price they should give you the machine - then you can make it at home and not pay their extortionate prices.

I'm assuming the coffee is made from fresh beans through an espresso machine, so how many 'refills" is a customer given?

packed with pattaya's cheap charlies as of today.....great....stay away.....! and then some free pork and fried rice.....with some luck without ordering a drink....knew somebody who kept asking for a glass of water at the birthday bars (pl. no bottle) and actually got it every time...some lifestyle! jl.

BTW, I tried one of their "Flamethrower grill" burgers which are supposedly a higher end fast food burger. I had never tried DQ Grill and Chill in the states, but ...

-- bun was smaller than US standard, patty was smaller than US standard

-- the bacon on it was tiny, not crisp

-- the soft drink in the set was very small

-- there was an initial taste of the grill but I don't know if it is a real grill taste or some kind of chemical they add (as I suspect)

-- the fries were very boring, not too greasy though

-- they offer the option of onion rings instead of the fries, probably worth a try as the fries are nothing special

Cost of the set, Flamethrower burger, fries, and drink , 129 baht (I think)

No rush to go back.

BTW we are getting off topic, but suggest you try the same at DQ Grill and Chill at Siam Centre in Bkk if you're around there. Yes, substitute the onion rings for french fries. Also they have UNLIMITED refills on the soft drinks which I thought was against the law in Thailand.

Your 37 comments put you in no position to start insults....

Insults can begin only after 100 posts... :-)

And, if you want to pay triple the amount for a cup of coffee, feel free to do so, and no one will insult you for over paying.

They never told me about refills, the buggers ...

Sure I might go again to try the rings.

Just a gentle reminder....insults on this forum quickly lead to less than a 100 posts... :)

If I drink too much coffee I get chest pains and palpitations. Is this normal?

It also means I can't take advantage of too many 'refills'.

Well some people react badly to caffeine overdoses so it is normal in that respect. One time I actually went to the ER with caffeine related heart symptoms. Just cut back, no worries.

What a pity. You should try de-caf coffee and see if that makes a difference.

According to this article drinking coffee may help Alzheimer sufferers.

.....um.........er..........what were we talking about ??? :)

More than two cups of coffee is an instant laxative for me. Guess I should count my blessings.
