DIAC forwarded the required documentation about 2 months before the application deadline. I received an acknowlegement that the documents were received about 7 days before the date 2 years from the initial application. This is the application deadline. Documentation was very simple and consisted of the following. Checklist with the following documentation attached. Sponsor. Statutory Declaration from Sponsor ( This is a pro forma document ) Applicant. Statutory Declaration from Applicant ( this is a pro forma document) AFP certificate. Acknowledgement card completed with your name and address. Forwarded by Registered Mail to Canberra ACT. A " case officer" was allocated to her application 6 weeks later and received this advice by E- Mail. All communication can be carried out using e-mail and telephone to the officers extension number. If you send mail to them make sure it has a tracking number, if you telephone them make sure you forward a covering e-mail.
