Hey all,

Need to go to Cambodia this weekand for the visa run. Just wondering if there is a bus that leaves from Lumpini. I'm thinking of the 150b (for farang) bus that should leave at around 4:00 or 4:30 in the morning.

So yeah, is there such a bus that leaves from the bus stop outside Lumpini early saturday morning? If so is it in fact 150b and when does it leave.

A pretty simple question, I know, sorry if it's been posted somewhere else and I just don't know/am too lazy to look.

Regards

Believe there are multi bus runs from there about every hour or less in early morning going to the casinos that can be used. But have never used to paid that much attention. Try a Google and perhaps use casino in the question.

Lopburi is right, there are Casino double deck buses there and the first one will start at 4.00 Morning, the fee is B.200 one way, or B.300 round trip. These buses are daily including weekends.

I need to make a trip. Do you have any more info on this? How does it work? I need to get a stamp to extend my 90 days.

There nothing much here, you just stand at the bus stop opposite the bank and approach either the driver or the bus supervisor, and most of the time, they will approach you first.

The bus will have one short stop for the people who need toilet and continue to Aranyaphratet, drop you at the entrance lane of the border and continue to the parking lot.

The supervisor will announce before arriving for the time that the bus will depart Aranyphratet, and you can ask him again before you leave, just make sure to take the bus number in order to know which one is yours when you return, and try to remember the face of the driver and/or the supervisor in case there were any problem with the bus and they have to change it,

30-45 minutes before departure go to the bus parking lot, straight forward about 50 meter from the point where they dropped you and look for the bus.

The going trip will take about 3 hours, and the return will take 4 to 4 and half hours depending on the traffic flow, including a 15-20 minutes stop for toilet and food at a cas station.

One more thing if you plan to do it again in the future, ask the supervisor on the bus for his telephone number and you can make reservation one night before your next trip.

Also check in the parking lot where the other buses are going, there might be a bus which can drop you nearer to your home, take their telepone number and call them before your next trip.

Have a nice trip and good luck.

There are no additional cost except for the Cambodian visa, which will cost you 1000 Baht and can be obtained in less than five minutes at the Cambodian visa office, about 100 meter right after you stamp out of Thailand immigration to your right hand side, it is clear and avoid any one asking you to help, because will charge you for some money which are not necessary. After getting the visa, continue straight down on that right lane until you arrive to the arrival hall of the Cambodian border just after the end of Grand diamond Hotel, ask the officer at the entrance for the arrival card, fill it up and handed to the immigration officer to stamp you in.

If the officer knew that you are going back on the same day he might ask you to pay an extra 200 Baht, however you can tell him that you are doing it always and just pay 100 instead.

After you stamp in, get straight to the opposite side of the building and stamp out, then, if you are waiting for you departure bus which usually will be some times in the afternoon, just go to any of the casinos (hotels) and enjoy some free hot or cold drinks and watch the people playing.

You can ask the supervisor in the bus for a free meal credit card (coupon), which he might have it only after arrival. He will charge you 100 Baht for it, but after you finish eating you can collect back your money by returning the credit card coupon to the cashier (It used to be a buffet, but not any more, it is now like food court and you can choose what ever you want to eat and charge it to the credit card, however the limit is 100 Baht unless you want to add up to it.) The Food court is on the third floor in the grand diamond hotel.

Make sure to be at the Thai immigration office at least one and a half to two hours before your bus departure, as they might be a delay in the check in due to many people entering Thailand.

On the other hand, you still can use a travel agency but the cost will be much higher.

Have a nice trip
