Hi,

Does Chatuchak market fully open on a Saturday night?

Thank you for the precious info.

As afar as I know ,the stalls tend to shut around 6ish.

"The market closes around 6 pm but some zones are closed a bit earlier. Most shops are closed during the weekdays. However, the book zone is open every day and the plant zone is open on Monday and Wednesday."

taken from a info site about jatuchak

I like Lumpini Park at night (Suan Lum Night Bazaar) far better than Chatuchak. I went to Chatuchak just three days ago. Walked around for two hours...and realized that there's really nothing there worth buying. Its a great place for tourist and Thai looking for cheap products for cheap prices. But overall, its not that big a deal...the second or more time around. Go for the experience but if you want atmosphere with a few beers in the beer garden, then Lumpini at night is awesome. And cooler. :)

I know this didn't answer your question so hopefully someone else has. I do know they stay open late on weekends, but no guarantees when a vendor will close up.

We were there yesterday. Most stalls start to pack up around 6 pm or 6.30. I'm not sure why as it was very busy at that time yesterday,

Maybe because they think that over 12 hours is a long enough day's work?

perhaps it is best not to make any generalized statement, meant to imply, intentionally or unintentionally, since you were there only a few times, that;

jatukjak is a cheap place.... so on and so forth....

we drove several hundred miles once or twice a month to jatukjak to buy what we need which might or might not be obvious to most visitors to the place that you could spend several hundred thousand baht in jatukja market like we often did to decorate our rental units.... for example, a selective fruit tree could set you back some 50k baht.... lol

so in the future when making statement or recommendation as such, try not to make too broad a statement to unseemingly insult some local farangs.... lol no apology needed here.... lol

The shops wrap up around 6-6:30pm , the best time to shop at chatuchak is not the evenings but the early mornings around 9-9:30am get a opening good luck discount too which is very imp for the chinese shopkeepers ..chokdee na ka ! :):D
