90 Day Stamps ,incorrect Dates.

Featured Replies

Did my first 90 day reporting in Bangkok on July 20th, 2009. Went to room 311, as many posters said to do, and was redirected to room 206. There a disgruntled woman processed the paperwork and stapled my copy into my passport. She then said next time report to counter 3. I thanked her and left. After pulling out of the parking lot I decided to take a look at my copy. To my amazement my next reporting date was stamped Aug.10th. Turned around and sent my nephew back in with my passport and paperwork. He returned shortly with a corrected date stamped on my receipt. The lady at counter 3 said that she had about 16 people return for a corrective date. Check your 90 Day receipt for correct date or you will learn as I almost did the hard way. I fell into the trap of assuming they knew their job or would at least get it right. Mai Bpen Rai, RIGHT! :)

Always recheck everything because their mistakes become your mistakes!

This also goes for arrival stamps as well. Always check the dates when they hand you your passport back, in any country. ALWAYS! :)

I had the wrong date stamped on a one-year re-entry permit, and I noticed it just before I reentered Thailand almost a year later. I renewed my non-O visa and re-entry permit a week later, with very little trouble. People make mistakes, and it's hardly worth mentioning.

Good for you. That LITTLE mistake would of ment another one and half hour travel to immigration and a 2000 baht fine (if I had not caught it)in only three weeks, not three months. Some members I'm sure have a longer trip so it was worth mentioning. As others correctly put it "their mistake is my mistake". The woman working counter 3 confirmed that.
