Best Internet Service Provider For Samui?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I live in Samui and I need to get Internet for my House. I went to to check with Max Net and they said that I could only get it if I do a contract for a year. Does anyone know of any other alternatives to get quality internet service. I dont want sim card internet. I need adsl with good speed and a solid connection. What are my options? Please help.

Thanx

Samui Blue Chip Wifi. If you Google it (name), you will find their website and contact details. Awesome wireless connection where we are. Super fast download as well. Just contact them and tell them where you are see that they can do for you.

The options are:

1. CAT Internet. It's the fastest, but most expensive @ around 3,000 Month.

2. TTT Maxnet Premier. Fast & reliable @ around 2,000 Month. (I use this)

3. TTT Maxnet. Good for general use, but shared with many @ around 1,000 Month.

4. CAT CDMA USB card. Can use anywhere in Thailand. It plugs into any computer. Last time I checked it cost 7,000 for USB device + 800 Baht Month for service. Good for general stuff, but not as fast as adsl...

Don't bother with TOT, the service and customer service is poor.

Let me know if you need help. I live here as well...

I use Maxnet Premium 2Mbit/1Mbit for 1090baht/month which I just got installed here on Samui. The up/down speed is ok but the ping time for European and American servers are pure bullshit. From 0,5 sec to 2 sec. As response time is crucial for my work I am now completely stuck on what to do.

I am thinking of upgrading this premium account to maybe 4Mbit/1Mbit for 2500baht/month or maybe change provider to CAT or something else.

Any suggestions are more than very welcome. Is their any point in upgrading? Will this have any effect on the ping time? Are the other (CAT, TOT etc) companies any better regarding this? If so, which company should I use and what package?

Please hlep!

You can try Siam-WIFI for free if you live in Banrak, Bophut, Chaweng, Choengmon, basically in the most user penetrated areas...

How about mobile phones and their EDGE GPRS function - does it work here well? (fast) And is it reliable (disconnects or latencY)?

Has anyone tried the Samui Wifi - and what kind of packages are available? (the free trial only lasted like 10 seconds and couldnt find out)

Criteria - reliability (does not disconnect, or have a big latency), speed in megabytes

( i wont be staying here for more than a month and so can not ordere a private adsl line - and i the CDMA does not work in BKK)
