Extension Of Stay From Doctor

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I had a motorcycle accident the other day, and was lucky enought to walk away with three fractured ribs and various scrapes. I am supposed to go on a visa run tomorrow, and told the doctor I did'nt think it was possible for me to travel in my condition. He then proceeded to write out an official form (Doctoral Certificate),which is all in Thai,

stating that my condition would take 30 days to heal.

Can I just take this note straight to the border, or do I need to go to immigration first?

Thanks, John

You should go to the immigration office and apply for an extension of stay for medical reasons. If in addition to everything else the doctor’s certificate says that you are unable to travel in your present condition, your application should be approved.

I guess the catch-22 is I actually have to travel to the immigration office, which is over 100 kilometers away.
