What's Needed To Be In Plan To Get Building Permission.

We are planning to build three stories house. Even though we have rough idea what kind of house we like to build, there are lots of things are uncertain yet. In order to get permission to build a house, can any one tell what minimum need to be in the plan ? Some said how many rooms and how many toilet/shower with rough draw. Is that good enough ? or more like architect draw very much in detail?

Thank you.

some local govts. require architectural drawings and engineers calculations, and some dont.

really.... you and your builder will need both of these items, even if your local govt dosnt require them.

A good set of detailed plans will save you a lot of time and frustration trying to explain things to the builder.

I could never understand why some people chose to save money in the wrong areas....

If the plans aren't detailed and the builder doesn't understand something, he will almost always do what 'he thinks' and rarely ask about it.

and if you don't notice it until much later you have no recourse if the details aren't in the plans.....and if you don't know much about building, specifically here and don't speak Thai (usually Isaan Lao if small builder) then a good set of detailed plans are priceless.....
