PoorSucker
OK ladies. Anniversary is coming up. We got married 080808. Give me tips for present. She Thai and 27 years young. To all the boys, I know gold, gold, gold.
Ave
I'd say no presents. Just a fabulous romantic dinner at the best restaurant in Samui. Alternatively, a 3 day spa retreat for both of you.

Patsycat
I never got past the third - but my parents got all the way to Golden and almost made it to Emerald. Unfortunately, my father died after 54 years of marriage. I would go for the meal option. Arrange for the restaurant to cook her favourite dishes, serve her favourite drinks and then produce the diamond!! sbk
Nothing like the personal touch that shows you care, I agree. Perhaps book a fancy hotel room, and splash out on a really nice dinner? (if she likes and feels comfortable with that sort of thing). Alternatively, if she doesn't, why not have a romantic dinner at home? Flowers, candles, white tablecloth, if you can cook decently, make a nice dinner and do the washing up. Women love that part best And then give her some jewelry. Gold is ok, but it doesn't say much to me personally.
GrahamF
Try and work in the number 8 into your gift somehow (08/08/08), like an 8 course meal, or 8 pairs of shoes! I know I am being a little flip here, but you know what I mean. Happy anniversary!
cdnvic
Fifth .......................................................... Wood I won't make cheap jokes.... I won't make cheap jokes..... Seriously though, was there any place special to her as a child she'd like to visit? Maybe throw a party and bring in some friends that she hasn't seen in a long time? It might help if we knew where you lived, and some background info.
PoorSucker
She is really superstitious, so temple in the morning for sure. I have tried to take her to fancy restaurants but she hates them, "to expensive". I bought her a new cellphone as gift because the old one is almost dead. She took my old one and wanted me to keep the new one. So, Temple in the morning and 99 baht BBQ in the evening. Maybe I'll by a bottle of sparkling wine, good idea or not? We live on Samui and she comes from Chiang dao. Edited August 5, 2009 by PoorSucker
cdnvic
She obviously isn't impressed by material things (not a bad thing at all), so something personal is your best bet. A trip home? A party with her family if it isn't a financial issue?

PoorSucker
OK, I bought this diet package from Thai television. She's been whining about how fat she is. Did not really do it for her. -"But you wanted to have that package". Now she's all quite. What did I do wrong? Just joking. Bought a bottle of Freixenet Cava (I prefer cordon negro, but this one is sweeter.) Some heart shaped pillows and heart shaped chocolate. It's a classic.
