Dear All,

Can anyone tell me how to get from Kuala Lumpur LCC Terminal to the city centre by train or bus? Are there direct services from LCC to the city centre, or do I have to go to the main airport first?

I am looking for the cheapest/most convenient way of getting to the city centre. I understand that the taxi will cost approx 100 ringgits from LCC to the city centre.

Many Thanks

Two bus companies directly nonstop to KL Central. One red official Air Asia 9 ringhit. One yellow 8 ringhit. Departs every 30 minutes or more often. Aitasia bus can be booked with your airfare, like 13 ringhit roundtrip.

Yup, it's called "Skybus".

Excellent, yes I think I will take the Skybus. Apparently tickets can also be purchased on the plane or in the terminal.

Walk out of arrivals, turn left and follow the road around. I am pretty sure the Airasia bus uses 'stand 3'. Anyway you can't really miss it and although the buses aren't in the first flush of youth the service is a bargain. We bought our tickets on the bus although I think it's possible to get them on an AA flight into KL.

Once you get to KL Sentral taxis can be got at the small booth right next to the bus drop off or you can go upstairs to catch the light rail or there is a short 2-3 minute walk to catch the monorail.

On my last trip taxis seemed just as reluctant as their BKK cousins to switch on the meter but you will find someone who will soon enough.

just to add.

two choice of taxis - downstairs as you arrive with agreed price (no meter) or go upstairs to taxi counter where you pay before boarding the taxi.price is already set by destination. apparently there is no wave them down taxis in Sentral. OR you could walk up to Hilton's lobby and flag them there, this will usually follow taxi meter.

the best would be taking the LRT PUTRA or monorail if your destination is near their stops.

Note that there are different "skytrain" companies in KL, and they're not completely interconnected.

Don't be confused.

You gotta walk a bit from, say, and LRT station to a Monorail station which might be near each other but not really.

They also have a pretty good and passably comfortable airconditioned bus service, with different companies as well.

KL is a nice place, when you can avoid the taxi ripoffs (their taxis are even worse than BKK in not wanting to use the meter).

Just my 2 cent's

I came back from KL 2 weeks ago with a new multiple non O as you all know, from KL Sentral is about 10 min walk to the monorail now due to construction but the ride in to the city only cost you 2 ringets and only

takes you a few min. I would not bother getting a taxi at all which will cost you at least 15 ringets.
