Featured Replies

Hi all!

I went in samui one weeks ago and we try to find quiet and verry special places.

So we found an island calling KOH TAN near from samui(20 min by boat) if somone want a place where you can be alone on a verry great beach and simple life bungalow( no electricity, no hot water ) go theire !!

Can write me if you want some infos.

Someone go theire one time ? what do you thionk about this place ?

Bye

Ben

koh tan - also called 'island of no dogs', interesting saga behind it.

it says that no dog can survive on this island ...... i heard that even a thai tv team went there for research about that and the dog they brought over to the island and took back to samui with them the same day, died after some days.

there are many theories on what could be the reason though, one is that there are so many bats, the dogs can't stand their high frequency sounds or that there is some virus which kills them.

someone who goes there regularly for daytrips also told me that you cannot talk too loud on that island at night, if you do so you will end up barking and howling like a dog for the rest of the night :o

anyone knows more?

According to my GF the Island is also afflicted with ghosts / spirits that she has seen at night.

Most frightening for a girl from a rural village in Isaan where the belief in these occurences is very profound.
