I apologize for this umpteenth post on the broad subject, but I have read many thread and now really wanted to get the specific tips I need and which I almost but didn't quite find. It'll be my first time there.

We want to stay from saturday night to tuesday morning; and yes I realize this will run into the weekend crowd and rates. But I want to find a place away from the crowds - no interest in the bars and music or partying other than a decent dinner on the beach. My budget is around 1500 bht and I'd like a room/bungalow on the beach or with a clear view of it.

- Is what I want easily available or at all available; and if not what do I need to budget to get it?

- Please suggest suitable hotels etc , and whether it's best/cheapest to book direct online, or through agoda, or by turning up.

Am trying to do this from abroad with the idea that we'll go there a day after getting to Thailand. Doesn't seem easy - maybe because I don't know the island and won't have my own transport to cruise around looking for a suitable hotel - which is what I did in Koh Chng.

Thanks a lot for your help
