tjansen
Hello, I would like to buy a crescent-shaped Zafu, filled with buckwheat or a similar material, in Thailand. The shipping costs I have been quoted from other countries are very high, around $100+. I would also like to get a matching zabuton if possible. I have a couple of benches that I had made locally, and they work well, but I still would like to find a Zafu. Thanks for any help.
fabianfred
I shouldn't think they'd be for sale here.... after all, the locals grow up sitting cross-legged upon the floor quite naturally and have little need of such props. I use one of the simple Oblong Thai cushions available at most shops selling Buddhist paraphanelia.
tjansen
That makes sense. Can you suggest a store in Bangkok, or is that like asking where a 7-11 is? I live in Ratchaburi Province and have not run across such a store. Thanks for your help.
NotYetArahan
You could ask a local shop to sew one for you. If no buck wheat can be found you could stuff with cotton.
fabianfred
Red kidney beans could be a cheap alternative.
