This Damned 'flu Bug

Featured Replies

Caught it from the kids about 3 weeks ago. The kids recovered after about a week and I followed suit.

Kids now jumping around fit as usual

For me though 1 week clear and (only) I have picked it up again. :)

First time round usual coughs, sneezes, sore throught, feverish and feeble.

This time "only" the feverish and feeble factors.

It's 10 days and loads of Lemsips or paracetamol and still I can't shift it. Getting a bore now.

Any suggestions anyone? I'm off to Cambodia in 10 days time and could really do with a cure.

Thanks for your help

blood test for 'THE FLUE' ...? check for complications? maybe something went piggyback (ok bad choice of words there) on you being weak so have something bacterial now?

Thanks for the advise - much appreciated. I'll attend to it tomorrow.

I also got the flu visiting someone in the hospital, recovered after few days, but I took extra precaution took antibiotic to stop some any other infection. I feel normal again

Chinese/Asian herbal medicine has always worked for me... and was later even tested in studies in western countries such as Sweden and found to be effective in preliminary tests.

The herb (latin) is called Andrographis Paniculata... and also known as the "king of bitters". You can Google it to look for the Chinese uses as well as the western based tests.

I was surprised to find it in an article in The Nation, indicating that Thais use it too; and call it "Fa Talai Jon".

It works for me, but I don't know for you. I'm also no expert, and would not know of the side effects. At your own risk.

perhaps Im stating the obvious but don't fly to Cambodia with any hint of fever. They are very well set up at customs with thermal scanners that only fit 2 people at a time. Wouldn't want to be placed in quarantine there if that's what happens. Besides you would miss out on all the fun
