I saw this ad while perusing the internet.

Home Raffle in Krabi

77 pound raffle tickets for a 500,000 pound house.

Beautiful photos on the website of a home to be raffled off.

It was a UK website about home raffles.

Gambling is illegal in Thailand correct?

As it mentioned no Thai government involvement or approval.

I am suspect.

Something like winner will be picked by a notary I think it said also.

A notary??

At the very least I smell something fishy.

What do you think?

So if he is not able to sell 6,500 tickets, then what? That would be a BIG not interested from me.

I've seen a number of scams like this recently. One I saw being advertised on someones crappy old worthless BMW was to 'win a pub in wales', based on the rules it looked like a total scam and if they sold the required number of tickets they would have gotten double the value of the pub. If they don't sell enough tickets there is an 'admin fee' deducted before the money is meant to be returned.

Hello, we do not know if the people on the web site own the house so they might not have the right to sell it or raffle it. There is no way to know if they are honest or if it is another scam. Maybe if they had shown some experience and documented proof in their desire to raffle any property we could take them more serious. It has better odds than a lottery if it is real, but they need to do a better job at making people feel at ease so they know it is a good thing. Cheers.

Agreed. After further reading it states the ticket price is 66 Euros next to the photo of the house in the website, then in the next paragraph it states price of tickets 77 Euros. Well which is it? Also it states that there is a mortgage on the house that will be paid off at the end of raffle. Not even a free and clear offering!

Also when you buy a raffle ticket online the money goes to the UK raffle organizer in the UK. This is a popular UK win a home raffle website. Some of the raffles advertised are real. This one reeks of BS.

As a long time resident of Thailand I can state this would never fly in Thailand. The government would want to be involved and get a cut of the money.

This is a very poorly put together scam. Buyer beware!

8888 ticket are available, 9 have been sold so far. Save your money, this one smells of rip off.

Property To Win an independent website dedicated to provide opportunity on winning different properties on regular basis announced Luxury Holiday Home. Property to win SA is not linked to any other website platforms.

The house in Thailand is proposed on 8,888 tickets which are collected in England. The draw will be done by a notary and the transfer of the property will be done at the same way as a normal purchase. The share of the company in Thailand will be transfered by the winner of the raffle and all the fees, taxes, etc..... will be covered by the present owner.

If we cannot reach the sell of 8,888 tickets and can sell only 6,500, we will propose to the players 2 ways

1/ re-imburse all the tickets at their buying value (no fees will be deducted)

2/ Propose to Raffle the collected amount minus the different taxes involved.

During the launch of this lottery, a mistake was written on our terms & conditions. It was wrongly specify that the house had a mortgage which will paid off at the end of the raffle. This text was valid for the last draw of a house in Spain and unfortunately, this text remained on our terms & conditons rules. This property is "a free and clear offering" and has no mortgage at all; we apologize for the mistake.

Moreover, if someone would like to visit the property, everybody is most welcome. During the next few weeks, the owner will not be in Thailand, but will contact you as soon as he is back for a visit.

For your information, for the people who do not want or cannot afford to settle the requested amount, we are offering 5 tickets free on our English platform. Just log in and play with us, the odds of this lottery have never been so great.

This is not a BS, but a GC (Great Chance)

Take it now, only 8888 tickets are on sale.

I hope this isn't beach front property as in the 2004 tsunami effect . Sounds like the raffles we would do once a week(when we were kids-My brother & I) $100.00 sold in raffle tickets guaranteed $60.00 in prizes. $1.00 tickets

Good luck I think your odds are just as good as going to the Casino- Who verifies that the winner has no ties to the company issuing the tickets. I would wonder if the UK oversees this as I don't believe if the ad was run in Thailand it would fly. Sounds about as good as a crimesharing plan Edit: timesharing plan.

Sorry but I think that chocalate isn't chocalate.....Whats that men smell...........................

But this is illegal to do in Thailand. This is not registered with the Thai Government. If they get wind of it the home you win is gone. Your raffle money is gone. THIS IS TOTAL BS BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL.

YOU CANNOT HAVE A HOME RAFFLE IN THAILAND.

GAMBLING IS ILLEGAL.

YOU ARE ASKING PEOPLE TO BREAK THE LAW.

REGISTERED IN THE UK.

YEAH YOUR BANK ACCOUNT AND BUSINESS IS IN THE UK.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE FROM THE THAI GOV. THAT YOU CAN SHOW US THAT PROVES THE LEGALITY OF THIS.

A WEBSITE IN THE UK

COME ON

TAKE YOUR SCAM SOMEWHERE ELSE!

WHILE YOUR WEBSITE DOES PROMOTE SOME LEGAL RAFFLES IN THE USA, UK, ETC. MANY OF THEM ARE OBVIOUS SCAMS THAT I WOULD VENTURE TO SAY ENRICH YOUR OFFICE ONLY.

There's too much fishy stuff here. I've never seen a legit lottery that only drew if a certain number of tickets were sold, as well, it seems to be proposing a not quite legit route to "owning" the alleged property.
