Hi, I am looking to move to Bangkok for a year, but due to requirements in my home country, I need to show proof of having a work or study visa of at least 1 year. Looking for advice on what type of visa I should try applying in my situation. I make money through the internet, for an income of 60-80k baht a month, so I am no where near being able to apply for an investment visa. I suppose I could teach English in Thailand, but would prefer running my business.

Non-Imm B visa: As a foreigner, would I be able to set up a Non-registered Ordinary Partnership with a Thai citizen? Is my business too small to qualify? Also, would setting up a partnership qualify me for a 1 year non imm B visa?

Student visa: If I study at a language school, from what I've read on this site, this visa is a 3 month visa with 3 month extensions up to a year. On the actual physical visa itself, does it say the visa is valid for 3 months or 1 year? If it says 3 months, does the visa itself state that it is extend-able for a year? (This is important as I have to show proof to my home country that I have obtained a 1 year visa and not just a 3 month visa.)

Sorry if this these are oft asked questions, I did do some forum searching and reading up on the BOI site. Any other general advice suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It might help if you tell us where you are from.

Note that any work tyou will do for your internet business will be illegal, as you will not get a work permit for that and without one working is illegal. (unless you establish a business in Thailand).

Hi Mario, I am from Singapore and below the retirement age.

I am interested in registering everything legally, and would like to know what options I have if I go down this route. Especially interested in registering a Non-registered Ordinary Partnership with a Thai citizen, but not sure if I am eligible for that.
