hey there i have a few questions regarding the boat which runs from jinghong, china tso chiang saen, thailand. if these questions seem obvious please forgive me, i've been to thailand twice before and am familiar with the esoteric visa system, so just wanted to make sure i knowwhat i'm doing.

what i plan to do i to is to get a thai visa (multiple entry hopefully) from my local embassy in the uk and then travel to china, and then take this boat to chang saen. what i want to know is, is this a valid place to enter thailand with a visa? (i know you can get a 15 day on entry, but there seems to not be much information on enterin thailand (for the first time) bythis boat.

thanks.

Chieng Saen Immigration Checkpoint , Chiang Rai is a official , international border Checkpoint.

With Visa you will be allowed to stay in accordance to the Visa , Tourist =60days, Non Immigrant =90days.

Without Visa Europeans will get 15days upon entry.

Chiang Saen is an official border crossing. You will get a 15 day 'visa exempt' stamp on arrival. If you need more time you could apply for a 60 day tourist visa at Hull consulate before you travel; presently free but there is a small admin charge.

Immigration want see the confirmed outbound travel arrangements before a 15 day visa is granted.
