I have a question about today’s Thai Rath political cartoon ( http://www.thairath.co.th/content/pol/27329 )

Standing in a parking lot (maybe at the airport) a man says to his wife:

สนามบินสุวรรณภูมิแม้จะใหญ่โตหรูหรา ประชาชนผู้ใช้บริการยังได้บรรยากาศอันคุ้นเคย he continues to say, เหมือนเมื่อครั้งอยู่ดอนเมือง

His wife says: บรรยากาศยังไง?

And he replies: มาเฟีย...แท็กซี่เถื่อน...ไก๊ด์ผี ฯลฯ

I think I understand all but the part about ไก๊ด์ผี something to do about tour guides, maybe ‘blood-sucking’ tour guides? There seems to be no shortage of the use of the term on google hits, but I’m not able to come up with a suitable (for me) translation. Anyone have any ideas?

My take on the rest of the cartoon:

"Even though Suwarnapumi Airport is enormous and magnificent, the people who use its services are in a familiar environment……….just like at Don Meuang."

"What kind of environment?"

"The mafia…….illicit taxis, ?blood-sucking? tour guides, etc."

There's a rhyming expression: เทปผีซีดีเถื่อน, meaning "bootleg tapes and CDs" -- although in this day and age เทป is often replaced with แผ่น, as แผ่นผีซีดีเถื่อน (among other variations).

My Thai teacher explained the word this way ไก๊ด์ผีคือคนที่ไม่มีที่อยู่ เหมือนผี (my Thai, not my teacher's). That got me to thinking........"a person who works for a phantom guide outfit" might be a way of explaining the term in English.
