2 homemade bombs found at Klong Toey market

BANGKOK: -- Two homemade bombs were safely disposed after they were spotted at the Klong Toey market Friday.

The first bomb was detected by a vendor at 6 am when he set up his vending stall.

Bomb disposal officials used high-pressure water gun to disable the bomb.

Later at 1 pm, another bomb was spotted under a flyover near the market, where vendors have been protesting against the market developer.

Bomb disposal officials also used the water gun to disable the bomb.

Pol Col Kachornsak Pansakhon, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 5, said the two bombs were assembled with C4 explosives and petrol in a can.

He said the two bombs were left there apparently left there to intimidate one side in the conflicts.

Seems C4 plastic explosives are freely available nowadays.. 2 seperate "homemade" incidents using C4 within 24hrs

Hello, this is a very sloppy way to send a message. It is difficult to know if the bomb maker did not know how to finish it, or if they did not want to hurt anyone. I vote that they did not know what they were doing, and they are lucky it did not blow up in their face. A curious thing about so much C4 that is available in Bangkok these days. I am happy no one was hurt or killed from the bombs.

This could be just a plant by either side of the conflict to get bad press for the opposing side, maybe it would not have detonated. Anyhow there are no chances of fingerprints being found, as usual the cops probably picked it up with their bare hands after it was declared safe.
