Bangkok Bank Atm Card Lost - How To Cancel

hihhih

Recommended Posts

Just found out my ATM card had disappeared from the wallet. No obvious reasons,

but it just is not there any more. Probably my own fault as thief would have maybe

confiscated international credit card and cash too :)

Dried up the account w. online banking, so there should be no loss even the card ends to wrong hands.

However, just to make sure - I wanted to cancel the card asap. Luckily their 1xxx number is

24/7. Dialled in...

I did manage to press 2 for english. After that the sound level dropped next to none.

The odd words I could interprete, were surely Thinglish. First I tried to listen

and comprehend 4-5 times - after no success I went on randomly pressing

numbers to get some "menu" that I could fathom out.

Guessed my gsm loudspeaker is done. Went to landline. Another gsm. Asked my

wife to get me anyonw breathing (not the computer system) to explain my

problem, even with my very limited thai lang. A couple of tries with thai "menus"

and same results - she could not hear the choices. Called my friend to confirm,

he tried and did not succeed.

Well, my guess is... this rather large Thai bank has made a phone service

that does not require manpower any time. Nobody can get through.

No helpdesk personnel needed but "24/7 service exists".

So.. if someone knows (or is willing to try, beware the frustrarion) the dial-in

combination to get BKK bank's helpdesk online (before tomorrow office hours) - I will buy

him two large beers at a downtown/Moonmuang st. bar (info by pm after completion)

tomorrow or any suitable moment.

You might have more luck with the credit card call center

Contact BBK

Or you can try the 1333 and then press zero - sometimes goes directly to operator and gets you out of automation hel_l.

Allright! 1333 was the extra-ordinary automation h*ll... Never got to operator

whatever I did; might be due late hours. The multiple-choiche-maze they

offered is just impossible.

My MaxNet's lovely "Indy" internet does prohibit all extensive surfing (will

complain in more appropriate threads, heh)... so I never found the

call center landline (real) numbers myself. Thank You!

Called. Problem solved in 2 min. Thank's a lot. Pm for "reward" sent, too.
