Visa On Arrival In Koh Samui For Kazak?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Could anyone tell me if my wife, who is a Kazakhstan passport holder, can get a tourist visa on arrival in Koh Samui airport? We're flying there direct from Hong Kong.

On earlier trips she did it in Bangkok - so if anyone can confirm that Samui airport has the same visa on arrival facility, I guess we're good.

Thanks a lot.

Here is a list of checkpoints that issue V.O.A 's . Samui is on the list and V.O.A's are free at the moment.

Thanks.

Please excuse my confusion. I emailed Bangkok Airways. They said:-

'Thank you for your interest in Bangkok Airways' service. According to your e-mail, we would like to inform you please kindly apply for the Thai Visa before you travel to Samui from Hongkong for more convenience.Due to there is no Immigration in Samui Airport.'

So they say there is no immigration? How could international flights land? And:-

'Regarding your email, we would like to advise you to contact your incoming flight carrier that they are able to check-in for you through Samui or not?

In yes, passenger are able to apply the visa on arrival at Samui Airport.

In not, passenger have to apply visa on arrival at Bangkok Airport.

However we would like to advise you to apply visa become travelling to Thailand for more convenience.'

I thought my 'incoming flight carrier' was Bangkok Airways - which is who I was emailing. I emailed the Thai HK Consulate. They said:-

'She may apply for an arrival visa at the air in Thailand for 15 day stay.'

- which after Bangkok Airways reply, I wondered what 'air in Thailand' referred to. Hopefully 'airport in Koh Samui'?

Ok, thanks for help. I think we'll nip along to the HK Consulate closer to the time and double/triple check that VoA is no problem.

Thanks.

be really certain....apply for a visa in HK. It is still free.

They seem to be a bit confused.

But I can understand what they are saying about the convenience of getting a tourist visa. She would get a longer stay and not have to apply when she arrives. Sometimes the lines are long for a VOA. A tourist visa is free at the moment.

If you are going to check with the consulate then it might be worthwhile for her to get a visa.
