Market For Used Mac Books In Thailand?

Featured Replies

does anyone know much about the potential resale market in thailand for mac books?

or how best to go about such?

i assume that with the higher price of macs here, most students cant always afford the price and might consider a used piece?

anyone with experience buying or selling pre-owned?

thanks

Hi

From a support side of things i would recommend against Mac in Thailand, with low saturation of users and the price of parts not to say if they are available. I know here on Samui its a real mission to get parts and the ones i have fixed do run rather hot and lack good cooling, my 2c

Cheers.

anyone else? the reason i ask is that i am considering selling (no this is not an ad) and i am just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and where the market is...

i assume going to mac shop in pantip would be best?

thx

Apple products sales growth in Thailand is growing alongside the rest of the world.

Now that the Apple Store Thailand is up and running with prices stabilised at near the US prices - the overcharging that was seen in previous years for apple products has more or less been wiped out.

The problem I see is Thai's do not usually like to buy second hand products especially high end ones like Apple products. Anyway those that can afford a Apple Laptop whether second hand or not would probably buy new. To get the "Big Face" of having a brand new Apple Macbook is worth the extra to them.

Students - Possible I guess however with the introduction of the Education Store discounts on the Apple Store Thailand website may hinder your sales - Once again the students who can shop for Apple products would tend to go for new.

Bit like the second hand car market here. Thai's prefer to spend the premium price to get a brand new car from the showroom to showoff their wealth and status.

I am not saying there is not a market for used apple products - There will be buyers however perhaps not as many as you would think here.
