Yes, the date is based on entry date, not on renewal of visa date.

As for the reason of the 3 month reporting: I think it is just because they can make us do it, no real reason whatsoever.

Strange, mine is based on when I got the visa, which is not the same as when I entered.

I seem to recall reading about the 30 day reporting rule for foreigners was because foreign governments are always looking for fugitives hiding out here, and with no central database like most western countries, the response was always, "mai loo".

And they wear nice uniforms and we don't, or maybe not, but I agree the necessity is not logical if you are resident at the same address for over ,let's say two years, you should be able to do your sign in on the computer. That'll be the day :)

It is actualy 90 day reporting, not 3 months. (But you can report as early as 7 days before and as late as 7 days after the date you are suposed to report.

The first time you ask for an extension of stay is considered your first time you report and yyou have to report every 90 days after that. When you leave the country on a re-entry permit the clock gets reset and it starts a new from the date you return.

Eeven when you do an extension of stay within the time frame you have to do your 90 day report, you still have to make your report. It is a seperate requirement.

Yes, you are to late end will be fined 2,000 baht.

And of course, it gives them something to do!
