I am looking at buying a 1993 honda steed 600 the engine s/n starts with PD06E can anyone tell me if this is a good S/N ??? This bike is in Chanig Mai, I am working through my wife as I am in Canada. Thanks Brian

Brian, I had the shaft drive model they call BROS here. the engine is as good as they come for reliability. BIKE in the UK had a story of some bloke putting over 100 k miles on it. ** when buying a bike, you need to look at the owner, too. Is he well heeled? Does he have all the maintenance and other records, or is he the chaotic kind of guy "saving" money on oil filter changes?

It's easy to manipulate the odometer. there are signs of higher milesage though.

Have a mechanic accompany your wife and be it to shake his head and whisper with urgency, in order to drive down the price :)

Have you looked at other Steed ads? Prices vary a lot and you better get one with a new Green Book and registration. Again, a Thai mechanic should be well worth what you pay him for an hour!
