In a couple of weeks I will be coming to Thailand for 6 months. I have a double entry tourist visa, obtained at the Thai Consulate in Vancouver. My questions are,,, is there a time window as to when I should go to Thai immigration to get a 30 day extention, or can I do it any time during the first 60 days I am there. Secondly, do I have to go to a neighbouring country ( Laos ) and get another tourist visa after 90 days, or can I just do a day run to Cambodia and activate my second tourist visa and then just get a 30 day extention and thus giving me 6 months ? Any help would be appreciated and sorry if this topic has been hashed over before.

1. Ideally the 30 day extension(s) should be applied for a couple of weeks before the 60 day period expires; although, posters have reported success in getting immigration to issue the 30 day extensions just about anytime.

2. Just do a border run to activate your second 60 day entry.

3. Watch out for the expiration date of the original visa. Your second entry into Thailand must be before that date.
