Nope, it's basically highway 4 through Phang-nga, Trang, and Phattalung and then due south also on the 4. Just before Phang-nga, there's a t-junction at some lights; do a right there (the 415 I think) as it's a bit of a short cut, although is only a two-laner. It comes back onto the 4 on a Krabi heading but saves messing about with Phang-nga. You bypass Krabi staying on the 4. You can also bypass the town of Huai Yot (between Krabi and Trang) by taking the 4159 south/4158 east... saves a lot of time and klicks and is a lot quieter than the 4, but don't quote me on the road numbers. You eventually hit the 4 again before Trang. Trang's a bit of a <deleted> to deal with as many one-way streets but after there it's all plain sailing.

Done it twice on a bike and once in a pickup. Something like 4 hours in the truck but I was booting her a bit.
