Next month I wish to apply for a one year extension, based on my marriage to a Thai national. I understand and can meet the requirements for the application, but am concerned on one issue.

For obvious reasons, I was reluctant to exchange GB pounds for Thai baht in the current economic climate and retained sufficient funds in a 'Foreign Currency' account with the Bangkok Bank. Whilst the bank are prepared to provide documentation confirming a balance (equivalent) in excess of the stipulated 400,000 THB for over two months, I was wondering if any members had experienced problems filing an application in these circumstances.

The immigration office here in Phuket are none too helpful with advance enquiries, which is why I am checking for experience or advice beforehand. :)

Regards.

The Lav say that you most have the money in a Thai Bank, but if you have a pension whit 32500/month from your country or a mix of that, no problem but in a Thai bank account.
