Treatment For Thais

Featured Replies

I` have a Thai girl friend who has a Social Security card, for which she pays 700 baht/month(my money, of course). If I get her to get tested annually for at least a pap smear and later for a mammogram, where can she go to get it free? The government hospital directed to her by the card? Is their quality medically sound? If she goes to a private hospital, how much will she have to pay?

The second group of questions concerns her 53 year old mother, who has no such card and no insurance(she works with her husband on their farm). She needs a hearing aid. Should I trust the hospital in Isan or should we bring her to Bangkok or Pattaya, where we live, for an audiological assessment at a clinic in a hospital? Where will we go to buy the hearing aid? Does her mother get it free, based on her citizenship, or will she pay(at a Thai rate or at a farang rate and if the former, how much of a discount will she get?)
