First Time Renewal Of Retirement Visa

Recommended Posts

1. Copies of passport main page/visa/entry page and current stay stamp/re entry permits and entry card (TM.6), sign and present with passport.

2. Medical certificate.

3. Letter from bank to confirm current bank balance (and suspect bank book copies but have not done retirement so someone correct if wrong - along with copies, signed).

4. Not sure if you will require letter from embassy confirming pension if full 800k in your account but suppose it could be requested.

5. One photo for TM.7 size 4x6cm.

You enter, turn left and walk 4 meters into main processing area. On right side will be counter for extensions and you get form TM.7 telling them for retirement one year extension and fill it out - return and pay 1,900 baht and wait to have it processed. You are then told to go to room directly in front of entry doors but at far rear. If counters occupied you take number, otherwise set at open officer and present your paperwork.

If you want to apply for re-entry permit(s) it should be done after you receive your one year extension stamp and is done at far front of main processing area and you will need 1,000 or 3,800 baht plus another photo.

This is all done on ground floor. If you need to do 90 reports it is in room 401 (4th floor) and you can use elevator or stairs in the main entry area.

My experience:

3. Letter from bank confirming balance is all I have taken (2 times), but it is best to take your bank book in case they want to check that the money came from outside Thailand.

4. If full 800,000 in bank, no need for any pension confirmation letter from embassy.

Don't forget to sign every photocopy and best to photocopy your TM7 form also (before giving it to them), so next year you don't have to think too much about what to write :o

Good luck!
