At 19.00 on March 22nd, as far as I can see, Northern Thailand is in gridlock trying to buy diesel. The increase is nearly a 20% rise in the cost of fuel. Comparable to a $3 increase on a tank of fuel. However if your income was B5000 a month rather than $1,500 the effect is greater. It led to civil disobedience in the UK.

But it raises the Q. What is cheap here and what expensive? I think food, shampoo, rent, fuel, fridges, are cheap. I think beer, cheese, wine, land, chocolate, stereos, international schools are expensive......not to mention 'tea money' ....what about you?
