Two Navy Soldiers Detained Following Bag Snatch In Soi 7.

Featured Replies

Pattaya, September 28 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : Late on Sunday Night, Police were made aware of a snatch-and-grab which had just occurred in Soi 7 off Pattaya Second Road. The victim of the snatch was Khun Sangwan aged 32 who was with her Canadian Boyfriend at the time of the alleged crime. She alerted local motorbike taxi drivers who were able to communicate with the Police who were told to search for a Red Toyota Corona with a Bangkok number plate which was thought to contain two men, one of which snatched the bag from the victim and then jumped in the car and the pair then drove off. Police eventually caught up with the two men in front of the Central Pattaya intersection with Pattaya Beach Road. Both men were arrested and a search of the car uncovered a firearm with 11 Bullets. Both men were carrying black hats and a wooden stick was also found in the car. Back at the Police Station, the victim identified one of the two men as the alleged thief and despite their denial of all allegations brought against them, both men later named as Chief Petty Officer First Class Tanom aged 33 and Chief Petty Officer Second Class Apichai aged 27 who are both based at the Sattahip Navy Base were charged with theft and possession of a firearm in a public place. It was also revealed that both men have a criminal history and are currently on bail pending court appearances

For our English-language challenged Englishman,

They are called Sailors in the Navy.

and it's (in order of seniority)

1. Chief Petty Officer

2. Petty Officer First Class

3. Petty Officer Second Class

There's no such thing as a Chief Petty Officer First Class nor Second Class.

Friends, are you referring to the Thai navy?

Wiki Thai navy rank shows different. Refer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_rank...ai_armed_forces

Plus 2 different Thai-English translation sites show:

พันจ่าเอก as Chief Petty Officer 1st Class

and

พันจ่าโท as Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class

There might well be in the Thai navy. I work with a foreign country's Air Force, where they have Warrant Officer 1 and Warrant Officer 2. No such distinction exists in the UK Air Force.

Did you join today just to make that rather 'petty' point? You'll probably find that the report was written by a Thai anyway - as it was from Pattaya One News.

Not in YOUR country maybe..............

What a totally pointless first post.

Not in YOUR country maybe..............

What a totally pointless first post.

I was thinking the same, but I’ve been getting around this world enough to realise that there must be millions of people who think that what is valid in their country is valid in the rest of the world, that is if they even know that there is a world outside their own country.

For your future education news clippings are a 'direct cut and paste' from the source which is shown at the bottom of the clipping. It is not correct nor is required to alter the original text.

Good - there's another Newbie seen off then!

The posting was a pointless as your pack instinct responses were ungratious

Most first posters try to be polite in their initial offerings. As this one failed the reading test, and missed that news was a quote then responded in an uninformed manner he got all he deserved.
