Rain

Got exactly 1.5 drops (not mm) of rain around 5 PM.

Here's a shot of the latest fire du jour, taken this evening:

I've counted 5 or 6 different ones in the last few days.

All very close to settled areas down low on the slopes.

My guess is land owners with political connections who act with impunity.

Some day their karmic chicken will come home to roost..... :)

Looks like some rain may be on its way from the North. Anyone in Mae Rim who can commnt?

There were clouds at the eastern area of Mae Rim and some thunder. The clouds didn't look very heavy but they are on the way to what looks like the T. San Pi Seua area AND getting darker.

According to http://weather.msn.com/tenday.aspx?wealoca...forecast:tenday there's a 5% chance of rain until Thursday, then Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday we can expect some.

And on the more detailed forecasts on http://www.accuweather.com/world-forecast-...AI&metric=1 it says showers from next Friday. Worryingly, Accuweather is stating realfeel temperatures of 52C in a fortnight.

Even though it's cloudy up in Mae Rim here no rain. I'm seeing 4 fires that are STILL burning (across the 107 highway behind the military bases) even after the feeble attempts by a military chopper with a tiny water bucket attached to it's cargo cable to extinguish the fires. 4 days burning now!!!!!!

I thought Sunday was one of the worst days I'd ever seen for smoke in the air here. Going up to Mae Rim today was even worse.

fwiw, there was lots of drizzle north of Mae Rim this morning. But it will take more than drizzle to cool the air and put out those fires. And does anyone really believe that someone can predict the weather 5 and 6 days out???? Especially accuweather (Ad-view-weather), whose only business is selling advertising, not predicting the weather.
