i have been doing lots of research and it seems that a Cambodian CANNOT obtain permission to marry here in Thailand. Although it is not easy to do in Cambodian it is only like 4-6 weeks and not cheap.

Now i have been told that when a Cambodian receives a TOURIST visa in PP it is only good for 30 days not 60.

So does anyone know 100% ( please no,... i heard from someone that heard...) can that be extended in Thailand another 30 and can she then travel to Malyasia ( either pennag or Kota Bahru and obtain another tourist visa and how long thta one would be good for.

Sunbelt???? could she apply to go to school and obtain an ed visa? I am on a retirement extension and want her to stay whith me.

Thanks

Yes Cambodians should be able to obtain a 30 days extension, I believe that they are even elligible to get two such extensions, to the total of 90 days in Thailand.

It might help if a ticket out is presented.

And when applying in Malaysia, again on entry 30 days is awarded.

Two topics in your post.

Marriage: I posted the official documents from Cambodian gvt recently in this forum.

It's more one year than 4 weeks.

It's not cheap. By experience, it's $700 (process not yet finished).

Visa. As it's free and the extension is NOT free, it's better to make a new visa.

the visa might be free till march 10 2010 BUT u need fly out and then spend 2 days/2 nights somewhere waiting on it.

Seems much cheaper to pay the 1,900 IF they can get it.

does anyone know 100% not should be able. they should also get 60 days on a tourist visa b=ut they dont.

No they should not get 60 days, they get 30 days. Only a selected number of countries get 60 days on a tourist visa. Again extensions are possible, it might help to present a ticket out of the country when you apply for this extension. Remember that any extension, is always at the discretion of the immigration officer, so a 100% guarantee that an extension is awarded cannot be given by anyone.
