Flash Drive (8gb) - Now Showing Only 4 Gb Capacity?

I recently had a virus on my Kingston (DataTraveler) 8GB flash drive, and AVG removed it for me.

However, I now find that when I check the 'properties' link, it shows a reduced capacity of only 4 GB, and attempts to store files larger than that are not possible.

Can I recover this missing 50% storage space, and if so, how do I do it?

note: I suspect this 'lost' space is filled by previous files which were stored on the flash drive PRIOR to scanning with AVG. Other than that, I am at a total loss as to how to solve this dilemma?

Thanks in anticipation,

Bucklt :)

Had the same thing happen to my 4g Kingston yesterday only showed 2g, so I used quick format and all 4 g came back.

Thanks Guys.

Both 'show hidden files' and 'quick format' did the trick.
