Hiv Employment In Thailand

Featured Replies

hi all,

can anyone help please. my g/f and i are both hiv positive. and the thing is my g/f has been asked to produce a hiv test certificate. lokking at the laws i would say this is not legal. Does anyone know and is there anyway she can keep this a secret as it is a recent development and we are still getting use to it ourselfs.

Thanks to any advice, tommy

This would be considered discriminatory under Thai law. No employer has a legal right to request an HIV test and/or the results thereof. (Unless in the Middle East of course where you would be tested anyway without consent if you want to stay and work in the country.)

She/you can decline to divulge that info.

If an employer asks for this, dare say if you refuse - they already have decided they will not hire you.

Quite likely; but they will and can not use this as the reason, they usually find something else...
