Hi,

I have a double entry tourist visa (2*60 days). I have already used one entry when I came here and now I would like to leave and enter the country perhaps three more times before I leave in January. Can I apply for a permit to enter more times? Can I in that case do that in Krabi and are they restrictive? Or should i use my two entries and then apply for a new double entry visa in Penang or Saigon where I plan to go? In that case how long does it take to get the visa and are they restrictive since I have already gotten one tourist visa? I am a Swedish citizen. It would be great with some help here since I am a novice in this business!

Need to know the expiry date of your visa, as not all embassies/consulates issue such visas with the same expiry period. You may be able to use combination of extensions/re-entry permit on your existing visa, or use visa exempt entries. Can you share with us your travel itinerary and planned dates?

Thanks for your fast reply. My visa expires Nov 20 but I am going to Bali on Wednesday so I suppose I get another 60 days when I am coming back. It is under this second period I plan to go to Penang and Saigon.

Without more information on your travel dates it is difficult to give you precise advice but:

1) You must enter Thailand on or before 19th November to activate your second 60 day permission to stay, or your visa will become invalid.

2) If you leave the country during that time period your permission to stay will immediately cease unless you have a re-entry permit from immigration.

3) IATA database indicates you do not need a visa to enter Thailand from Malaysia or Vietnam. Entry by air will give you 30 day visa exempt permission to stay.

You need to build this into your travel plans. Let us know if you need more information.

Thanks again! I need to be back from Bali Nov 1, so then I will probably get 60 more days on my double entry visa, meaning approx Jan 1. The problem is that my parents are coming down for Christmas and we are going to Vietnam Dec 28-Jan 6. And then we stay 2 days in Bangkok before going home to (cold) Sweden.

1.Should I apply for a visa extension and re-entry permit so I can enter Jan.6 fom Vietnam?

or

2.Can I as a Swedish citizen get this 30 days permit upon arrival (is it possible despite I have had a tourist visa so recently)

or

3. Should I apply fo a new tourist visa i HCMC (which I am not totally sure we have time for)

Your plan is fine

1) Use second 60 day stay on your tourist visa when entering Thailand 1st Nov (will expire 30 Dec)

2) Fly to Vietnam 28th Dec

3) Arrive back in Thailand 6th Jan by air. Can enter using 30 day visa exempt entry as have ticket out of the country to fly home.

4) Leave Thailand for home on 8th Jan
