they have a pretty good Thai band playing most nights. it wish KPN had more things like this festival. it makes it worth living here.

The ChakPhra festival occurs every year around this time and is, from my understanding, exclusively Southern and means, "pulling or carrying the Buddha" and it it begins the day after Awk Phansa. It is marked by bringing the Buddhist images out of the temples and carrying them in processions through town. I believe Koh Phangan also marks it by carrying them on boats as well.
