I'm assuming this comment is ironic/sarcastic? I hope so anyway! It should go without saying that people from anywhere in the world all have the capability to act or behave in any manner. jb5music Posted October 18, 2009 Share Posted October 18, 2009 The truth will probably 'Out' if we all show a little patience instead of jumping to radical conclutions of the worst kind , it does sound a little wierd that the shoe is on the other foot though , we can never realy tell what goes through a persons mind under certain circumstances . More evidence needs to be proffered before a judgement can be logically arrived at , time alone may produce that which we all await with baited breath . Actually, I think that the chicken is probably the real cuprit in this, and is possibly holding the Dane for ransom.... ... "Baahhhk" for Super Chicken! Even happens to Thai people, i read the other week some Thai lady was supposedly duped by some Thai men in going to the bank and withdrawing 500,000 Bht from her bank acount while the men waited out side after they had apparently drugged her. The incident was focused on them being prospective buyers for her house and ended up instead of them giving money for here propertyshe gave them money.... The husband/boyfriend was back in his own country at the time. C'mon, as a foreigner stealing a secondhands car....While every policemen, car seller knows the brand, colour and license plate of the car...It take's just hours before they caught him! I agree with "Bat Blaster" this forum tends to berate Thais, In all people there are good and bad. He/She had a valid question, if you feel that you are not treated well in Thailand, Why do you choose to stay here? I love Thailand and have lived here for 8 years without any problems with the Thai people. In my village I would trust my friends with my life. The problem, as I see it batbklaster, with your post is that unfortunately there are too many Thais that foreigners come into contact with in Thailand are bad and do want us only for our money. I guess you said it right on in your post.....that Thais deposit our money. It is NOT clever....as this is why you have the bad reputation. I don't see any real attempt by middle to upper Thais, that you refer to, making any effort to get involved with socially or romantically with foreigners. Why is this? Are we to kept at a distance, like something undesirable? I agree 100% with you about having respect for the country you are in ....but this has also to be the other way around. Ahh, yes, they do deposit a percentage, and it is the percentage that the "falang" allows. I don't mind, it is why I worked hard and continue to do so. I agree the whole- we are better nonsense- both side are guilty ,unfortunately one more than the other foreigner's come here because want to and can, and whilst they have the immense financial advantage- and a much more poweful nation behind them they basicly own thailand. I know I know, many locals hate to hear this, but that changes nothing. I do get a tad miffed when I see comment such as this- "you have to respect something" ' go home' ( they are home- and have far more rights than many locals, what are ' rights" here?) oh no one does not, and why should one pray tell? where is the moral leadership? in all the brothels? the other corrupt to the bone proud institions- where? hence the little reality check here the only real thing one cna learn from here is this- money rules! Its a sad fact-instead of living in a dream, blaming everyone bar oneselves this will go- and on westerns should actuully be a little more aware and do something to help the country get rid of it's laughing stock, world whorehouse reputation locals should wake up, help each other out, yes, that inludes the poorer locals and for God sake-stop clinging to absurd false notion's of fake pride- do a little self examination/intropection- in this case, who realy knows the truth?, lets not use it as an exuse to play the blame game- it very hard to say, hopefully the whole system may improve and one will have more chance of seeing the truth behind all these storys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He probably bought the car (how often does the Thai woman buy the car when she's steady with a farang?). Perhaps their relationship was on the ropes. She says, 'no way, dude, car in my name, I keep for me!" He waits until they're crashed out, and takes off with it. Soon after the woman and her family realize what's happened, they concoct stories to make it sound like a bigger deal. Local cops agree with the dramatized version, ....why wouldn't they? It's doubtful that a toxicology report was done. Perhaps we'll hear more on this case, and see how it unfolds. As for authorities finding the car with him in it - doubtful. When he realizes how incriminating it is, he'll unload it. Plus, how effective are police at pulling over vehicles and checking identity? From my 22 yrs experience driving in Thailand, the answer is zero effectiveness. I drove for ten years without a license and never had a problem in that regard. Problem is the very limited investigative journalistic style of the Thai press means it is unlikely that even if the full story is found out it is unlikely that they will do a follow up story; especially if it is found that the girl had given the old "sick water buffalo" story to the Dane and perhaps felt betrayed when he discovered how it oft works here. Unfortunately, as with many developing nations, the local press tends to be highly biased towards their own people and they certainly would tend to believe any local over the statement of any alien. Love that term "alien", which Thai immigration are extremely fond of using. Not sure if they think of “alien” in terms of our thinking of Sigourney Weaver and a great acid dripping seething monster with razor teeth and a nasty attitude or just a boring old white faced European "farang"?! Anyway sure would like to know the full story. Can't be too hard to locate him if she knows his name and he went to board a plane out of here???
