October 25, 200916 yr Hi., I hold a non Imm B (3 mth) single entry Visa that expires on 28th Dec. Around about the first week of Jan 2010 I go to Australia. I've heard I can get a 15 day extension at the border - do you know if this is the case, and what sort of info do I need to provide? I just want to extend for 15 days until I can fly out. I'll be back of course. (Probably with a 1 yr visa from Australia...) Thanks in advance, Martin
October 25, 200916 yr You exit Thailand . Enter the neighbouring country. Turn round and come back again. You will be given a 15 days Visa Exempt Stamp. Depending on where you go you may need a Visa to enter the country. You should be able to get a 7 day extension from Immigration providing you show them an air ticket leaving within those 7 days. 1,900 Baht

November 20, 200916 yr Sawatdee. I have heard I can get a 15 day extension to my one year ME B visa at Phuket Town Immigration (this is news to me). Has anything changed since these earlier posts or are we still limited to 7 days? Brit, 33 years. My permission to stay stamp is 25 Nov, and the expiry of the visa was September 09. That the only documentation required will be a flight ticket and some Thai Bhat..? Thanks in advance and chock dee!
November 20, 200916 yr Extension would only be 7 days, if you can show a ticket out of the country within those 7 days.
November 20, 200916 yr You may be able to get 7 days "under review" but it may also require you show a ticket out when making application. You will not receive 15 days.
November 20, 200916 yr OK Thanks for replies. A friend has spoken to a lawyer on my behalf who has said immigration will not give an extension because the visa has already expired and I have had my last visa run. Now that doesn't make sense to me as why would I want an extension if my visa has not expired. We will try and call immigration today and if I find out anything remotely useful I will post it here.

November 20, 200916 yr The will almost surly provide you 7 days under review if you have a ticket out - but it will cost the normal 1,900 baht. FYI your lawyer does not know immigration law. We all have expired visas and continue to get extensions of stay - that statement is flat wrong. Once in country only the permitted to stay is relevant.

"If you want to get something done, you have to do it yourself". I managed to get 7 days extension. You would need 1900 TB, passport photo (any size will do), fill out the form TR7 (but dont quote me on that) and wait patiently. Was thanks to the info on this web site that made me to decide to go to the Immigration office with a positive result, thanks!
