School Books

Anyone know the cost of sending a 10 year old boy back to school at the beginning of term? Books pencils whatever; Is the upcoming term when new books etc would be required?

must remember school uniforms, shoes and a book bag. Also a scout uniform as everyone is expected to be a scout...all girls anyways. All this can run into some dough as I found out and is quite a hardship for poor families.

There are a number of variables; such as private or government school but books would probably be at least 2-3k and uniforms/misc. make it a time for loans for many. Someone that did it last year or so should be able to provide a breakdown for you. Also payment to school (if government may only be a few hundred baht but if private the tuition), bus, school bag, scout uniform, activity uniform, hats, lunch money.

lop...do you know approx. when in May the new school year starts? I got my two step daughters coming to Bahrain to visit and still haven't got their visas sorted yet.

I would bank on around 10,000 THB for the basic stuff to head off to school.

Thats not including any tuition fees, school busses etc etc.
