Generally, there is not much in the way of 'give her a second chance', as you suggested, on public forums. 

In that respect, I got it completely wrong - his song was about the lack of sympathy and tolerance so I suppose it is even more relevant these days.

Why give her a second chance when you can just give her one.

To the OP: I think you have already given her the second chance when you said "quiet truce has descended". Or maybe I misunderstood the words. Nonetheless, if this is the only one thing about her that you're not happy with, then I suggest you continue with this relationship. If she do it again, it's time for you to ask yourself whether you want be in, or out of this relationship.
